Out of all the Social Media platforms that we have, we all know and agree that Facebook is the most populous Social Media platform with over 2.74 Billion active users.
Many use the platform to run their businesses, to connect with people, get customers for their businesses, get jobs offer and do other stuff with it.
Many have made millions of naira in their business with Facebook.
Ever since it has grown to billions of users, Facebook contains enough data for hackers to use for either monetary gain or blackmail. A celebrity’s account, for example, can be hacked in order for a person to advertise a page or brand.
The hacker can also post embarrassing or discriminating posts that will leave the celeb’s fans furious. Your account is also prone to hacking even if you aren’t a celebrity.
Some hackers even go to the extent of using the account to Fraud and putting the real owner of the account that was hacked into trouble.
You will now agree with me that, with all this, one needs to protect his/her account from being hacked.
One if the ways you can protect you account from being hacked us by using the Two-Factor Authentication feature provided by Facebook.
It’s very simple step to do and It’s 100% guaranteed that your account is secured.
There are three ways you can use Two-Factor Authentication.
1. Using your Authentication App
2. Text message (SMS)
3. Security key
Using Authentication App
1. Tap on the menu icon and go to settings and privacy. You will see this when you scroll down gently.
2. Click on settings
3. Under Account which is what you will see first in settings, click on password and security
4. Scroll down to where you will see Two-Factor Authentication
5. Tap on use Two-Factor authentication
6. Enable the “authentication app” and click continue

7. Here, you will need to first of all download authentication app with your mobile device, such as Duo or Google Authenticator.
8. At this point, after you’ve downloaded it, Facebook can tell you to insert your password for confirmation that it’s you.(not in all cases)
9. Click on confirm, and Facebook will tell you toScan a QR code that will be displayed for you. You will scan this using your Authentication App or you can enter a code that you see below your QR code into you Authentication App (I think this is easier compare to the scanning process).

10. Click on continue and Facebook will tell you to enter the confirmation code you see on your Authentication App.
11. Click continue and boom!!!! You’re done.
Two-factor authentication should now be enabled for your phone. When Facebook recognizes an unfamiliar device attempting to log into your account, it will send this code to your phone.
