Honestly, everyone want to get a response after a message has been sent. There is a kind of feelings that you develop when you do not get a response after you sent a message especially if the message is very important and needs a quick response. I know it’s annoying and unpleasant.
Atimes, if you send a message and do not get response after some hours or days, and the receiver is online, you might be thinking that maybe the receiver haven’t seen it or your message wasn’t delivered, yet the receiver is online. you start thinking of possible reasons why you didn’t get response to that message. Lots of people encounter this and do not know how to track the status of their messages.
Fortunately, WhatsApp is one of the Apps that track the status of either your messages or status to know if someone received and read your messages.
There are lots of ways to check if your whatsapp message was or wasn’t read and delivered. You can even check if your receiver listen to your voice note on WhatsApp.
This article will teach you how to do that.
How to Check if Someone Read your Message on WhatsApp
Method 1
According to the UI /UX of WhatsApp, there are checkmarks that will be showned if a message was delivered, not delivered and read. I.e, every checkmark has a meaning.
- If you sent a message and it shows a single grey checkmark, it means that your message wasn’t delivered to that person. This can happen if the receivers internet is turned off or there is no signal at the receiver’s end.
- If you sent a message and it shows a two grey checkmarks, it means that your message was sent and delivered but the receiver haven’t read or open the chat. It may be that the receiver just decided to ignore the chat by not reading or opening it or maybe the receiver is busy.
- If you see two blue checkmarks next to your message, it means the recipient read the chat.
- For group chat, it’s quite similar, the only difference is that you’ll see two blue checkmarks only when all the members have read the message. Until then, they’ll remain in grey.
Method 2
Sometimes, people can go extra length by turning off their “read recipient” in the WhatsApp settings. This means that, you won’t know if they’ve read your message or not as the two blue checkmark won’t show. Tho, you will know that your message was sent and delivered.
To know how to check this even if your receiver have turned off their read recipient, just check the message info. See below the steps below
- Select the message.

- Tap the three dots icon at the top-right corner.

Tap Info. Then, you’ll see if and when the message was delivered and read.

We will write how you can check if someone has played your whatsapp Voice note or not and the trick that can be used to play the voice messages without showing the blue microphone icon which won’t let sender knows that you have played the voice note.
